Getting your business onto IndiaYP takes about ten minutes and costs nothing. This guide walks through each step and explains the choices that make the biggest difference to how customers find you.
Before you start
Have these ready:
- Your business name exactly as customers know it (and in Hindi or your local language, if your signboard uses it).
- A short description of what you do, who you serve and what makes you different.
- Your phone and WhatsApp numbers, email and website (if you have one).
- Your full address and working hours.
- Your logo or a clear photo of your shopfront.
Step 1: Create a free account
Choose List your business at the top of any page and sign up with your email. You will use this account to manage your listing, reply to enquiries and request verification later.
Step 2: Choose your main category and sub-category
Categories decide where your business appears, so take a moment here.
- First choose the main category, the broad sector such as Property & Construction, Health & Medical or Education & Training.
- Then choose the sub-category that describes what you actually do, for example Property Dealers & Estate Agents, Dental Clinics or Coaching Classes.
- Where available, add the specialised category too, such as Commercial Property Dealers or NEET Coaching.
Both a main category and a sub-category are required. Main categories group related businesses; customers browse them to reach the sub-category lists where businesses actually appear.
Step 3: Choose your state, city and locality
IndiaYP is organised the way people search: by state, city and neighbourhood.
- Pick your state or union territory.
- Pick your city.
- Pick your locality, such as Bandra, Koramangala, Lajpat Nagar or Salt Lake. If your town has no separate localities listed, your business is filed under the town itself.
Choosing the right locality matters: your business will appear on that locality's page and on its city page, which is where nearby customers look.
Step 4: Add contact details customers can use
Add your phone number in the usual Indian format, for example 98765 43210. IndiaYP shows it as +91 98765 43210 and turns it into a click-to-call button. Add a WhatsApp number if you take orders or questions there; many customers prefer it.
Step 5: Write a description people will read
Write two or three short paragraphs:
- What you do, in plain words.
- Who you serve and where (for example "families in Andheri and Bandra").
- Why customers choose you: experience, guarantees, delivery, timings.
Avoid writing in all capital letters or repeating keywords. A clear description helps both customers and search engines.
Step 6: Hours, logo and photos
Add your working hours, including your weekly off day and Sunday timings if they differ, and upload your logo. Listings with a logo and accurate hours get noticeably more attention.
Step 7: Submit and get verified
Submit the listing. Our team reviews new listings before they go live to keep the directory accurate. While you wait, you can start verification from your dashboard by confirming your phone number and uploading a document such as your GSTIN certificate or Udyam registration. Verified businesses get a badge that customers trust.
After you're listed
- Reply quickly to enquiries and quote requests in your dashboard.
- Ask happy customers to leave a review.
- Keep your hours and phone number up to date, especially around festivals and public holidays.
That's it. Your business now has a page that customers in your city and locality can find, call and message.
